Eleven months old

Introducing Luke Christian Alan Schroeder

Chris, Kendra, and Annamarie(Tim's brother's family) welcomed Luke into the world on Friday, March 12. He weighed 8#9 oz and was 21 inches. We had the opportunity to meet the little guy last week over Tim's Spring break. Luke is a very sweet blessing. Enjoy the photos!

Do not be deceived by this photo...Evelyn really wanted to "get" Luke. It was quite challenging to deter her.

Probably not a very safe spot for Luke! Do you think these two girls will be bossing him around in about a year?! :)

I miss him already!

The Hans family passes through

We enjoyed a brief visit from Tim's sister's family last weekend. They stayed a couple nights with us on their way to Florida.

The crew - Ethan, Zechariah, and Samuel - at the Student Union on campus.

Zech was such a good helper with Evelyn!

We think Ethan is a future Racer linebacker!

Cousin Ian comes to town

My nephew, Ian, was able to come visit for a few days during his Spring Break. It was such a treat having him here. It amazes me that I was Ian's current age when he was born. In some ways, it seems like just yesterday.

We took Ian to the Math department's celebration of Pi Day. Yes, we are the nerdy Aunt and Uncle. No, Ian didn't eat all that pie!

Evie and Daddy enjoying Pi Day festivities. Since you're dying to know what one does at a Pi Day party, I'll go ahead and give you the rundown of events: Pi trivia contest, pie eating contest, and a contest to see who could remember the most digits of Pi. Ian recited 7 digits, classifying him as a 'Minor Nerd.' The winner rattled off 71. This was not Tim, although he did win the frisbee golf competition(not sure what that had to do with Pi). Morale of the story: Start memorizing Pi because you never know when you might find yourself at a Pi Day Party!

Following the party, we headed over to the arena where the Racers play to watch the CBS NCAA Tournament Selection Show. CBS did cut to the arena for about 3 seconds after Murray was selected, but we didn't make it onto TV. Below is a picture of the team celebrating after finding out who they would face in the first round. In case you missed it, we beat Vanderbilt! GO RACERS.

A little behind...

You may have thought that I forgot to take a ten month photo of Evelyn(or more realistically, you didn't even notice it was missing, unless you're my Mom, of course ), but actually, I claim that she never reached ten months since there was not a February 29 this year. Therefore, she will have to remain 9 months old until the next Leap Year, which I believe will be 2012. This is good news for Mommy and Daddy, since time is moving way too quickly. Are we really going to be celebrating her first birthday in just one short month??
I do not have an "official" ten month photo, but here's what she looked like at 10 months, and also what we've been up to since you last heard from us...

Evelyn is constantly on the move. She has recently discovered the vent covers. More specifically, she has discovered how to remove the vent covers, and as you may have guessed, see what she can drop down there before Mommy or Daddy notices. We thought we would outsmart her by placing a chair over the register. Our determined little daughter was not fooled. It took her about 10 seconds to maneuver herself under the chair to remove the cover! She certainly keeps us on our toes!

Evie LOVES books. One day I had stacked these books outside her door while she was sleeping. Before I was able to get them onto her bookshelf, I found her in the hallway doing this. A future teacher?!?!

We recently took two short trips to St. Charles. Here's a shot of Evie in the tub with cousins Marc and Madi.

"Uh-oh, did I inherit my Daddy's hair??"

We'll let you be the judge of that!
