Ketch-ing-up and Mustard

Yes, you are correct, Tim came up with the 'clever' title for this post. And, yes, we are still here! As I sit here attempting to get the blog up to date, I realize that my blogging style closely resembles my cleaning style. To clarify - I let the clutter and dirt in the house build up for a long time, too long of a time, and then I try to get caught up in one long marathon cleaning session. It's exhausting, and each time I tell myself that I won't let things go for quite as long next time. Well, I'm still waiting for that 'next time' to happen. Alas. On a bright note, I find it much more enjoyable to play catch up (or ketchup) on my blogging than my housework. (On a side note...please do not let this discourage you from coming to visit us. The house isn't as bad as I make it sound, at least most of the time! :) Please do stop by and check it out if you ever find yourselves in western KY!
So, just what has Evelyn been up to since turning one almost 2 months ago?!?! Enjoy the pictures as we get you up to date...

Evie started walking right around her first birthday. Next thing we knew, she was running!

She enjoyed meeting Daddy's Uncle Jon and Aunt Lucy when they stopped by our house back in early May.

Evie loves playing with baby dolls. She can say 'bay-bee' and affectionately refers to young and old alike as 'bay-bee'.

Evelyn has become quite the little helper around the house. She turned one, and we put her to work!

She likes to help Daddy outside, too. In fact, she recently helped him build a new deck. Tim spent his two weeks between the end of Spring semester and the start of Summer session tearing down our existing deck and building a new one.

In the struggle of Man Vs. Deck, today, Man won!!! Great job, Daddy(and Evie)! We love it!

We traveled to Morehead, KY, in early June to celebrate the baptism of Luke Christian Alan Schroeder. Despite running a fever most of the weekend, Evelyn loved seeing her cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents!

Hard to believe this little guy is already three months old!

Grandpa Schroeder cuddling his newest Grandbaby, and loving every minute of it!

Evie with Aunt Sara

The entire Schroeder clan.

As the number of Schroeder grandchildren increases, the likelihood of getting a picture with everyone smiling decreases.

The Tuesday following our return from Morehead, Tim departed for Colorado to attend a Math conference. The conference was, well, it was a Math conference, but he was thankful for the opportunity to see good friends Ryan and Rachel Bredow and meet their new daughter, Bella. Evie and I stayed home and enjoyed a visit from Aunt Jessica and cousins Marc and Madeline.

The joys of small town living(see sign below).

Blueberry picking + 90 degree temperatures = messy, sweaty children. Time for a bath!!

Hot little mama!

Things are starting to slow down at the Schroeder household. Tim finishes teaching next Tuesday, so then it will feel like summer has 'officially' begun.

In the meantime, we are enjoying golfing,

cute summer sandals

and go-gurt on the porch!

I hope you are enjoying the start of your summer, too!

With love from KY,
Tim, Julie & Evie

P.S. Hopefully you'll hear from us again before late August(but don't count on it!:)
